Fabrizio Sferra

Fabrizio Sferra & Yakir Arbib

For reasons out of my control, Roberto Gatto won’t be able to make the gig tomorrow.  However, I am extremely excited and happy to get the chance to play with the great Fabrizio Sferra!

A million of thanks to my dear friend Danilo Rea for his help!!  Hope to see you all tomorrow at Alexanderplatz for this occasion!!

RIP Al Jarreau

It’s sad to say goodbye to you, dear Al Jarreau.

I have learned so much from you since the first day of the Montreux Academy: to listen out to each other and accept each other with love also when there are “apparently huge” differences in character, culture and musical taste.

Your generosity, passion and loving spirit touched me in a way I will never forget! The clear manner in how you pointed out that our music matters in a concrete way to touch and change the people who listen to us I take with me as a great maxim and model to look at and aspire to!

What you gave and continue to give us cannot be expressed in words, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for each laugh, memory and quirky expression I was lucky to hear in your company!!!

We will keep going!!!

Dancing Quartet

This Sunday I had an amazing fun playing with this great quartet: Max Ionata (saxophone), Francesco Ponticelli (double bass) and Andrea Nunzi (drums).

There were red ecchos in the air, and we pushed each other in a super energetic dance towards newer harmonies and unvisited expression!

Thank you so much!

Yakir

Lyrical duo

-IMG_1580-IMG_1580An absolute pleasure for me to spend the last three days working with the beautiful voice of soprano Ines Halimi! Repertoire included Poulenc, Aboulker, Bernstein and Corigliano. Next stop for us – radio Switzerland!! Stay tuned…

Trio Reunion

Was incredibly inspiring to hit the studio together with two of my absolute favorite musicians last week: the one and only Roberto Giaquinto on drums, and the inimitable Francesco Ponticelli on bass!

Our last recording together was my first album for Philology Jazz Records (2008) and this just felt like a long awaited family reunion!!

Videos coming soon… Stay tuned.

All About Jazz Review!

We just got a great review by Mark Sullivan of ‘All About Jazz’ for Radio Intro’s new album “Sketches on the Radio”!

Check it out here

“Remarkable improvisation from a pair of musicians with an almost telepathic connection. Two players worth keeping an eye on, individually and collectively.”

We’re greatful for all your support dear friends!

See you at our next show and, if you haven’t done so already, get your fresh copy of “Sketches on the Radio”
